SHOW

SHOW queries FeatureMesh catalogs as tabular data.

SHOW catalog entities

SHOW [ALL] [RECENT] entity
    [ON BRANCH identifier]
    [(metadata_options)]
    [name [, name ...]]
    [LIKE pattern]
    [IN | FROM namespace [UP TO LEVEL level]]
    [WHERE boolean_expression]
    [ORDER BY expression [ASC | DESC] [NULLS FIRST | NULLS LAST] [, ...]]
    [LIMIT count [OFFSET offset]]
    [WITH DEPENDENCIES]

entity ::=
    FEATURE | FEATURES
  | FUNCTION | FUNCTIONS
  | TEST | TESTS
  | DOC | DOCS
  | REVISION | REVISIONS
  | BRANCH | BRANCHES
  | JDBC_CATALOGS | JDBC_SCHEMAS | JDBC_TABLES | JDBC_COLUMNS | JDBC_PRIMARY_KEYS

Singular and plural entity keywords are equivalent. The available metadata columns and option meanings depend on the entity.

Common selectors and options

  • An explicit name list selects exact catalog entries.
  • LIKE performs name-pattern matching.
  • IN and FROM restrict namespace scope; UP TO LEVEL includes descendants through the specified depth.
  • WHERE, ORDER BY, and LIMIT operate on returned metadata rows.
  • WITH DEPENDENCIES is valid only on SHOW TESTS. WHERE / LIKE / LIMIT select seed snippets; the result also includes their transitive # depends: rows. Those extra rows set IS_ONLY_DEPENDENCY to TRUE. LIMIT counts seeds only.
  • RECENT applies the entity’s recent-item policy, such as the latest features.
  • ALL removes default filtering where the entity supports it.
  • COLUMNS(...) selects an exact output shape.
  • INCLUDE(...) adds fields or derived expressions.
  • EXCLUDE(...) removes fields from the default shape.

LIMIT 50;
SHOW TESTS (

)
WHERE NAME LIKE '%.my_snippet'
ORDER BY NAME

WITH DEPENDENCIES;

WITH DEPENDENCIES is off by default and valid only on SHOW TESTS. Missing # depends: ids are omitted (no error). COLUMNS (NAME) still expands the closure but does not add IS_ONLY_DEPENDENCY; name the column in COLUMNS / INCLUDE, or omit COLUMNS to get the default shape with the boolean.

SHOW FUNCTIONS exposes function metadata and signatures. SHOW TESTS exposes executable documentation SLT. SHOW DOCS exposes human and LLM documentation rows. SHOW REVISIONS lists main catalog commits (managed registry; newest order_key first). Default columns are REVISION, BRANCH, KIND, MESSAGE, CREATED_AT, CREATED_BY. Overlay commits are SHOW REVISIONS ON BRANCH name (or a script-level ON BRANCH before SHOW REVISIONS). SHOW BRANCHES lists overlay names (BRANCH, REVISIONS, CREATED_AT, UPDATED_AT, BASE_REVISION) and omits main. SHOW JDBC/CATALOGS, SHOW JDBC/SCHEMAS, SHOW JDBC/TABLES, SHOW JDBC/COLUMNS, and SHOW JDBC/PRIMARY_KEYS list persisted FMV. views (see JDBC catalog ). Table and column discovery require the applicable catalog/schema context.

ON BRANCH after SHOW is valid only on SHOW REVISIONS. SHOW FEATURES is not wired for AS OF or ON BRANCH (UE/REVISION-VIEW-NOT-WIRED). Use RETURN, SHOW CREATE, DESCRIBE, or SHOW REVISIONS against that view. See Catalog revisions and Branch overlays .
